CUP Semi Final

CRAZYSPOONS vs PETSAS RANGERS

Due to the new handicap rules Crazy Spoon started with a handicap of minus 3. The match starting point became Crazy Spoon minus 3 / Petsas Rangers 0.

The 1st match of the evening was between Adam Parker for Spoons and Mark Phillips for Rangers. Mark managed to take the 1st frame, then a win by Adam levelled the game to 1-1. After a close 3rd game Adam took the spoils with a 2-1 victory.

With the handicap, the score line so far is Spoons -1 / Rangers 1

Up next was between Crazy Spoons new signing Tony Palmer and Rangers Mark Farnsworth. After two frames it was 1-1. In the 3rd frame, after a potting display by Mark, Tony still had 7 balls left on the table. Mark managed to snooker himself on the black which looked impossible to get out of. Next came the shot of the evening. With the Gods on Marks side, and a lot of side Mark somehow got to the black… and potted it gaining a well-deserved round of applause. Score so  far – Crazy Spoons 0 - Petsas Rangers 3

It was looking good for Rangers, but in the 3rd match with new signing Sandy McNicol for Spoons against Mohan, Sandy took the game 2 – 0 giving Spoons all 3 points. Score so far – Spoons drew level 3 – 3

The 4th match was between Allan (The Melling Masher), and Chris. After drawing 1 all…. Allan won the 3rd frame. Score so far – Spoons 5 – Petsas 4.

Spoons Captain Andy took on Alan in the 5th match. This was a close match but after a shaky start by Andy, once he had his eye in the game, showed his potting skill and took all 3 points. Score so far – Spoons 8 – Petsas 4.

The last game of the night was between the top of the league stats Landlord and ex snooker professional Stefan take on Petsas stalwart Terry. In the two matches played it was a close affair, but as with previous matches you know that if you give Stefan an inch, it’s game over. Terry had his chance to make it 1-1, but with a sudden dip in the cushions on the table (lol) the white managed to go for a walk around the snooker room, giving Stefan the two shots to keep his unbeaten run going.

That white is a loose canon!!!!

Final score Crazy Spoons 11, Petsas 4. In the 2nd leg, with Crazy Spoons starting next week with their – 3 handicap means the match next week starts 8 - 4. It is an uphill battle for Rangers against Crazy Spoons next week, showing why this handicap system is a good idea to try and level the playing field against this super team.

The Godfather vs The Bottlebank

We welcome The Godfather into the Winter Knockout Tournament playing against The Bottlebank. The Bottlebank only had 5 players and used our agreement where the 6th player is drawn from the 5 players present.

Score so far – The Godfather 9 – The Bottlebank 6

A crucial last match was left to play. The 6th and final match was between The Godfather Captain Darren “Sausage” Jones and The Bottlebanks’ random selected player. A win for The Bottlebank prevailed, but with Darren taking one frame out of the three it was enough to still give The Godfather the overall win on the night.
