2026 WINTER KNOCKOUT FINALS

FINAL LEG OF CUP FINAL - THE GODFATHER vs PETSAS RANGERS

Last week we saw these two great teams play against each other for the first time in the 1st leg of the 2026 Cup Final. Petsas Rangers took the lead last week with the score 12 – 6 after the 1st leg. This week, it’s the final leg of the tournament and a Champion will be declared at the end of the night… who will it be? Certainly the Godfather have a few points to catch up, but with home advantage, this great team can definitely not be ruled out.

The 1st match of the evening was between Dave Shaw for The Godfather and the great Stalwart Terry Williams for Rangers. A confident Dave with such good potting and positioning outshined Terry to take both legs and all 3 points for The Godfather; taking a sizeable chunk out of the Petsas lead.

The 4th match saw Nicolas for The Godfather against Mark Farnsworth for Rangers. After tense start, Mark took the 1st frame. In the 2nd frame, Mark had the opportunity to be bold and go for a delicate shot with 2 more balls to pot for victory. Anticipation and maybe a touch of over-thinking, Mark changed his mind and played a different shot, which ultimately let Nicolas take the 2nd frame. After some good potting by both players, Nicolas got the victory and 2 valuable points for The Godfather leaving Mark wondering what could of been!

The 5th match was a contest of who could hold their nerve with Paul Howcroft for The Godfather taking on Paul Chadwick for Rangers. A tense game with so much on the line Rangers Paul showed his pool knowledge and skillful potting to win his match 2 – 0 and his team won the Cup.

The final match was played out and maybe a game of pride for the hosts. The Godfather with representative Simon Watkins took on Chris Innes for Rangers. But it was not to be for Simon as Chris potting like a gardener took both matches and final 3 points for Rangers.
