We are half way through our 1st season with one team holding onto the lead. Crazy Spoon are a formidable team with Petsas Rangers hot on their heels. Will Spoons be toppled by the end of the year and end of the season.
Rangers stay close to Spoons after visit to Aces
This was a hard-fought battle of 2 teams. The matches started with the away side, Petsas Rangers, winning all 3 doubles matches (Mark Farnsworth & John Monnelly beat Steve Manifold & Billy Cheetham, Mark Phillips & recently signed Terry Hilman beat Vasilis Yorgas & Christopher Papadopoolos. Finally, Terry Williams & Pete Ives beat Aces landlord Spyros Kapellides and Rob Ingram. Aces soon levelled the score in the singles with Vasilis Zogas beating Pete Ives 3-0… the score line… 3 points apiece. The tables turned once again with two 3-0 victories by Petsas Rangers players Mark Phillips and John over Christopher and Rob respectively. Aces poised for a comeback with Spyros seizing a 3-0 victory over Mark Farnsworth. A bit of nervous tension as Terry Williams for Petsas Rangers lost the first leg in a tightly fought game against Billy Cheetham making a score line of 7-9 to Rangers. Terry managed to hold his nerves and take Rangers over the line by winning his last 2 legs. The final match saw Rangers new starlet Terry Hilman potting like a man possessed to claim a 3-0 victory over Steve Maifold to finish the match at 7-14 in favour of Petsas Rangers.
Next Match… Rangers face a top of the table clash with the mighty Crazy Spoon whilst Aces play another home match with the formidable Petsas Restaurant.
Petsas Restaurant vs The Bottlebank
The doubles matches were a close affair with The Bottlebank taking the early lead winning 2-1 overall. The 1st match saw Christoforos Panagiotou and Roy Dymond beating Demetris Dimitriou and Alexhs Loannou. The 2nd game saw Petsas Restaurant level the match with a win by Achileas Heracleous & Pambos Efstathiou over Panikos Lambrianides & Andreas Christou. Finally, The Bottlebank took the third match with a win by Panikkos Petrou & Aristos Aresti over Giorgos Xatzipanagi & Llal Riddeal. The singles matches then became a rollercoaster affair. The 1st match saw Roy for The Bottlebank increase their lead with a 3-0 win over Pambos. The 2nd match saw Alexhs for the Restaurant team claw back 3 points with a win over Christoforos. The 3rd match was close, but ultimately won by The Bottlebanks’ player Aristos, 2-1 over Giorgos. The next match saw The Bottlebank pull further ahead with a 3-0 win by Panikos over Archileas. Petsas came back with a 3-0 win by Lall over Charis. The score now was 7-10 in The Bottlebanks’ favour with one match to play. After another close match, Panikkos for The Bottlebank took the final two points with a 2-1 win over Demetris. The final score ended with a 8-12 win in favour of The Bottlebank.

The Meeting Pub vs Crazy Spoon
The Meeting Pub knew they would have to put in a good performance if they were going to get points from this match. The evening started with 2 wins by Crazy Spoons with Stefan Mazrocis and Allan Richardson defeating Lee Hammond and Glenn Kilburn. Next up Andrew Mc Cullough and Luke Jacobs beat Dave Springett and Mohamid Diaby. Finally, in the third doubles, The Meeting Pub pulled a leg back with a victory by Glyn Hughes and Bob Gipson over Darren Hayes and Luke Jacobs (6th player randomly drawn for Spoons as only 5 players were available). Onto the singles. This is where Crazy Spoons showed their dominance with 5 consecutive 3-0 victories with Stefan beating Lee Setterfield, Allan beating Sandy Brown, Darren beating Dave, Luke beating Mo and finally Andrew beating Lee Harrison. In the final match of the evening, closely fought games saw Bob gain a 2-1 victory over Luke (again randomly drawn). This ended the evening with a final result of 3-18 in favour of Crazy Spoons.
