The Meeting Pub vs The Bottlebank
The Meeting Pub had a chance to avenge after the 17-4 dubbing at their last match at The Bottlebank. It didn’t start well for The Meeting Pub with Panikkos & Christoforus beating Big Lee & Sandy in the first doubles match. The Meeting Pub turned the tables by winning the two remaining doubles with Little Lee & Mo beating Aristos & Giogos and Bob & Glyn beating Roy & Andreas. The first singles saw a top performance by Panikkos over Big Lee with a 3-0 score line, giving The Bottlebank a 2-4 advantage. The second match saw The Meeting Pub captain Sandy restore the lead with a 3-0 win over Christoforus. The third match was close, but Roy defeated Bob 2-1. Score line was now at 6 all. Match four was a battle between Glyn and Giorgos, with Glyn securing the win with a 2-1 score line for The Meeting Pub. Match five saw Little Lee (with his new birthday cue) take a win over Aristos with another 2-1 score. Score now was 10-8 in favour of The Meeting Pub with one match to play. But after a triumphant effort by Mo, he could not stop the potting power of Charis who took the game 3-0 giving The Bottlebank the win and the match.
Final score 11 – 10 to The Bottlebank.
Next Wednesday sees The Meeting Pub taking a drive to Coral Bay to take on Petsas Restaurant. Then on Friday The Bottlebank take on visitors Petsas Rangers.
Petsas Rangers vs Crazy Spoons
Although a home match for Petsas Rangers, with a large function at Petsas, Rangers opted to play the match at Spoons; handing over the home advantage. Was this a mistake? The doubles ended in favour of Crazy Spoons with a 2-1 advantage after Judy & Darren beat Mark P & Mark F and Stefan & Andy beating Michelle & Pete. A leg was then pulled back by Terry & Mo over Allan & Luke. In the first three singles matches Crazy Spoons showed their dominance with three 3-0 victories by Judy, Darren and Stefan over Pete, Mark P & Mo respectively. This already gave Crazy Spoons the legs required to win the tie. The last three singles for Rangers were played for the pride of the team. The 4th singles was a close match, with Allan coming through with a 2-1 victory over Mark F. The fifth singles saw a match between the senior stalwarts of both teams, with a 2-1 win for Terry (Rangers) over Luke. Then the final match was the captains’ battle with Andrew pulling through with a 2-1 victory over Michelle.

match postponed - to be arranged
