CRAZY SPOONS vs THE MEETING PUB
This Tuesday night match was rearranged from the previous Wednesday. Crazy Spoons start with a -2 handicap. The Meeting Pub had only four players… their 5th player was drawn from the other players, but unfortunately The Meeting Pub had to concede the 6th match.
The 1st match of the evening was with Dave for Spoons against Meeting Pub landlord Gary. Both players were potting well until Dave played a snooker which Gary missed. Dave then used his two shots to clear his last two red’s and the black to win. The 2nd frame started with Gary potting a red on the break, and then a further 3 more. Dave then potted five of his yellows in concession, leaving both players needing just one more colour. Dave played a yellow onto the pocket covering Gary’s red. Gary then played an incredible shot to knock the yellow off the pocket and pot his red in same pocket. He then followed up by potting the black to win the second game. Dave breaks and pots a red, then pots a further three reds to start off the 3rd frame. Gary then pots 3 yellows, but on third yellow he also pots the white ball. Dave with his two shots pots his remaining reds and jaws the black on the pocket. Gary then pots one yellow and uses another to knock the black ball off the pocket. But Gary forgot the cushion rule giving Dave two shots, which he uses to pot the black and win 2 points for Crazy Spoons.
The 2nd match was between Allan and Lee Setterfield. Both played well, until Lee does a double on one of his yellows and proceeded to pot black ball at same time. Frame 2 saw both players taking turns to pot balls and then playing safe. With both players left with two balls, Lee pots one of his and then snookers himself on the remaining red. He then misses his red, giving Allan 2 shots. Allan then pots his two remaining reds but misses the black leaving Lee to pot his last red and the black to make the score 1-1. The 3rd frame was very tactical and it came down to Lee with one red left and Allan on the black. Lee fouls on his red, giving Allan two shots and an easy pot on the black.
Luke & Bob played match 3. Both played a safety game but Luke made two good shots to finish off the first game. The 2nd frame was a potting battle, which left Bob with three yellows and Luke on the black. Bob then pots his three remaining yellows, but jaws the black. This gives Luke an easy black and 3 points to Spoons.

The 4th match was between Spoons Captain Andy against Glyn for The Meeting Pub. Both potted well through the 1st frame, which came down to the black ball. Andy played it towards the middle pocket, but it just clips edge leaving Glynn to finish off. The 2nd frame was close with both players potting well, but it was Glynn who took the win, with his third attempt on the black to give The Meeting Pub all 3 points.
Match 5, the final match saw Tony playing The Meeting Pubs drawn payer Bob. A crucial game for The Meeting Pub, requiring a 0-2 win by Bob to get a play-off final frame. Both players started potting well, but it was ultimately taken by Tony with a pot on his last yellow and black ball. The 2nd frame was another good potting battle, but it was Tony who shone through to win the game 2-0 and three points for Crazy Spoons.
With The Meeting Pub, not having a 6th player, Crazy Spoons were awarded 3 points for the 6th match.
