Winter Knockout 2026

2026 winter knockout

Tournament Notes

The 2026 Winter Knockout starts today. We are delighted to have a new team taking part... and a new bar... all the way from Peyia... Welcome The Godfather.

Our double elimination means that if you are knocked out in either the quarter final or semi final of the Cup, you get to enter our Plate Knockout. This ensures that if you get knocked out straight away, you get another chance and are in the draw for the Plate Trophy.  Every team gets to play a minimum of 4 matches (2 x home & away) knockout.

The Godfather were drawn against Aces Bar, who have had to sadly withdraw. Spyros team are doubling as a demolition and refurbishment team... will there be anything left of Aces after seeing Spyros with his sledge hammer!!! Looking forward to seeing the affect of all that hard work when you re-open Spyros.

Fortunately for The Godfather, they now have a bye straight into the semi final.

We will continue to use our Paphos 8 Ball Rules with the following additions/alterations.
  • No doubles
  • Usual 6 singles best of 3
  • A team short of players: If a team only has 5 players. That's ok, the 6th player can be drawn from the 5 playing and will count as a valid player
Tie Breaker - If there is a tie for points at the end of both legs, there will be a single game/1 point knockout. Captains will pick their player. Break decided by the toss of a coin.

Handicap

We are trying a new handicap system based on the results of the Winter Division. We saw Crazy Spoons flying high at the top, whilst The Meeting Place struggled. As a result we have introduced the following adjustments
  • Crazy Spoon start the knockout matches on minus 3
  • The Meeting Pub start each match plus 1
The new score sheets includes a space for adding the handicap. The sheet can be found on our website.

As usual, please send your scoresheet to Mark on +357 95 934130 or email mark@paphos8ball.com

Good luck to everyone and lets see who the last two standing for The Cup & The Plate will be!! Let the fun begin!!
